PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) will begin applying an 8% application commission on its two-wheeled passenger transport service, GoRide, starting 1 July 2026. This implementation is part of the follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto’s directive regarding improving the welfare of online motorcycle taxi driver partners.

“Starting 1 July 2026, Gojek will implement an 8% application commission for the two-wheeled online passenger transport service, GoRide. This is our effort to continuously improve the welfare of our driver partners,” said GOTO Vice President Director and Deputy CEO, Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo, during a press conference in Jakarta on Friday (23/6/2026).

The implementation of this profit-sharing scheme is not easy and will present challenges for GOTO’s two-wheeled business line. Therefore, adjustments need to be made by considering interrelated aspects, namely maintaining driver partners’ income opportunities, service price affordability for customers, and ecosystem sustainability.

Gojek, Catherine explained, will continue to coordinate with the government and various stakeholders. This effort is made to ensure the policy implementation runs smoothly and provides benefits for driver partners and the sustainability of GOTO’s ecosystem.

The press conference on the policy implementation was also attended by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Deputy Speaker Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal. Dasco stated that the commission for two-wheeled online transport services is a policy that online motorcycle taxi drivers have long awaited.

“This is our commitment in the DPR RI to oversee the long struggle of our online motorcycle taxi friends. This is President Prabowo’s commitment, who truly sides with all online motorcycle taxi drivers,” Dasco explained.
