GoTo Management Responds After MSCI Removal from Global Standard Indexes
PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) has affirmed that the company recorded positive financial performance for two consecutive quarters, with a net profit of Rp 607.48 billion in the first half of 2026.
As such, GoTo’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Audrey Petriny, said the company considers MSCI’s decision to remove GOTO from the MSCI Global Standard Indexes to be purely technical in nature.
According to her, this relates to GOTO’s share price being at its lowest level of Rp 50 amid low trading volume, and was not caused by the company’s performance, which in fact recorded positive results.
“We note MSCI’s decision regarding GOTO’s exclusion from its equity index, and we recognise that this is unwelcome news for many of our shareholders,” Audrey said in a statement on Thursday, 13 August 2026.
She confirmed that the company will continue to maintain communication with MSCI Inc., while remaining focused on managing the business to create added value for all shareholders.
“Index review decisions are made periodically and we will continue to engage in active dialogue with MSCI. In the meantime, we will remain focused on managing the business to create added value for all shareholders,” Audrey said.
Throughout the first half of 2026, GOTO recorded a net profit of Rp 607.48 billion, reversing from a net loss of Rp 580.01 billion in the same period the previous year.
The Group’s adjusted EBITDA increased for the first time to reach Rp 1 trillion, and remains on track to achieve its annual performance guidance with adjusted Group EBITDA of between Rp 3.2 trillion and Rp 3.4 trillion.
The company’s net profit was supported by net revenue reaching Rp 10.99 trillion in the first half of 2026, growing 28.45 percent year on year (yoy) compared to revenue of Rp 8.55 trillion in the same period the previous year.
Alongside revenue growth, the company’s costs and expenses also grew 16.87 percent (yoy) to Rp 10.21 trillion in the first half of 2026, compared to Rp 8.73 trillion in the same period the previous year.
From a balance sheet perspective, the company’s total assets reached Rp 47.47 trillion as of 30 June 2026, while the cumulative total of liabilities and equity reached Rp 47.47 trillion as of 30 June 2026.
