GoTo Backs New Ride-Hailing Commission Rules, Driver Partners to Receive 92 Percent
GoTo fully backs government direction on the sharing of driver-partner commissions with the company or app operator in light of Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026, signed and announced by President Prabowo Subianto during International Workers’ Day celebrations on 1 May 2026. The policy sets a 92 percent revenue-sharing scheme for driver partners from each ride revenue of the two-wheeled service (GoRide). Under this rule, the company will receive a commission cut of eight percent compared with the previous 20 percent. Hans Patuwo, Chief Executive Officer and President Director of GoTo, said in a Jakarta statement on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. As a form of support for the president’s direction regarding the revenue-sharing model for ride-hailing, GoJek and GoTo have prepared four concrete steps. The first step is to adjust the two-wheeler revenue-sharing scheme to align with President Prabowo Subianto’s direction. He also confirmed that there will be no price changes for regular GoRide users so consumer orders will remain stable and total earnings for driver partners will be maintained. Furthermore, the company will discontinue the “GoRide Hemat” subscription programme for driver partners. The removal of the GoRide Hemat subscription for driver partners is intended to create a sustainable ecosystem for all parties. “Going forward, GoRide Hemat will also follow the eight percent revenue-sharing system like GoRide reguler. As a result, there will be a moderate adjustment to consumer prices for GoRide Hemat, and at the same time Gojek will ensure that these adjustments are implemented in a measured way while continuing to prioritise affordability for the public,” Hans said. He added that they also support Asta Cita by continuing to ensure all driver-welfare programmes in place remain a priority, such as Hari Raya Bonus Programme (BHR), BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, BPJS Kesehatan, scholarships for partners and partners’ children, free Umrah, Gojek partner job fairs, and free health checks in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, which will be continued. The final step, Gojek and GoTo will strengthen the ecosystem and other business lines sustainably. “Through the strength of the ecosystem and ongoing innovation, we are optimistic that we can implement the adjustments effectively while also safeguarding the long-term stability of Gojek and GoTo,” Hans said. “Alongside further directions, the company will continue to communicate developments and the necessary implementation steps to all related stakeholders as a form of corporate responsibility,” Hans said.
