Gorontalo Pushes for Accelerated Investment and Downstreaming
The Gorontalo Provincial Government is strengthening its strategy to increase investment realisation and improve the regional business climate through intensive consultations with the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in Jakarta on Thursday (30/07/2026). This move aims to align regional policies with the national agenda regarding the acceleration of downstreaming, the strengthening of MSME partnerships, and the restructuring of licensing regulations.
The Head of the Gorontalo Provincial Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), Sri Wahyuni D. Matona, emphasised that this coordination serves as a crucial foundation for formulating tactical steps to boost regional capital. “We are conducting consultations and coordination with the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM as part of our efforts to strengthen the strategy for increasing investment realisation,” said Sri Wahyuni.
Leading the Gorontalo delegation, Sri Wahyuni was received by the Head of the Bureau of Protocol and Public Relations, Rr Sri Moertiningroem, alongside Regional Director V, Ady Soegiharto. During the meeting, the delegation met with the Secretary of the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, Rudy Salahuddin, to strengthen coordination regarding steps to accelerate investment increases in Gorontalo Province.
The meeting served as a strategic momentum to present various regional investment challenges while obtaining policy guidance aligned with the national agenda for investment and downstreaming enhancement. The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM presented the development of investment realisation in Gorontalo Province as material for evaluation and future strategy formulation. The presented data included regional investment progress from 2021–2025, achievements for the first semester of 2026, the composition of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Domestic Direct Investment (DDI), leading investment sectors, and the distribution of investment across various regencies and cities within Gorontalo Province.
