Gorontalo Provincial Government Integrates Spatial Data to Support Regional Investment

Gorontalo (ANTARA) — The Gorontalo Provincial Government is integrating data from the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) into the One Data Gorontalo Portal (Pentagon) to strengthen certainty in spatial utilisation, supporting development planning and regional investment.
Meykowati Isa, Head of the Spatial Planning Division at the Provincial Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (PUPR PKP), said in Gorontalo on Thursday that RTRW data is one of the main components in strengthening the spatial data currently being finalised through the Regional One Data Forum.
According to her, the Gorontalo Provincial RTRW was established through Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2024 for the 2024–2043 period, making it the reference for spatial utilisation across the entire provincial territory.
“So now we can support RTRW data becoming one spatial dataset within One Data, which is currently being finalised,” she said.
She explained that the RTRW data has been collected from various regional apparatus organisations (OPD) with authority in spatial utilisation. The data is then integrated with sectoral and statistical data through the Pentagon Portal so it can be used in formulating development policies.
According to Meykowati, the existence of integrated spatial data makes it easier for the government to determine locations for infrastructure development, settlement areas, economic zones and investments that require conformity with the spatial plan.
The strengthening of data governance is also being supported by the Synergy and Collaboration Programme for the Acceleration of Basic Services (SKALA), an Indonesia-Australia government partnership that supports the implementation of One Data Indonesia at the regional level.
Through the Regional One Data Forum, regional apparatus organisations across the province are conducting inventories and verification of the data lists held by each OPD so they meet standards for data, metadata, interoperability and reference codes in accordance with the principles of One Data Indonesia.
Ahmar Djalil, Provincial Lead of SKALA Gorontalo, said that data meeting these principles can be designated as priority data and used across OPDs as the basis for development planning.
He emphasised that SKALA only acts as a facilitator in strengthening data governance, while data management remains the responsibility of each data custodian.
“SKALA does not hold the data. Everything remains with the data custodians. Those who hold and manage the data are the data custodians,” he said.
The Regional One Data Forum, held on 28–29 July 2026 in Gorontalo City, forms part of the finalisation of the 2026 regional data list compilation and was attended by 32 regional apparatus organisations within the Gorontalo Provincial Government.
