The Gorontalo Provincial Health Office (Dinkes) has moved quickly to respond to the declaration of an Extraordinary Event (KLB) for measles in Dudepo Kepulauan Village. Tactical steps were immediately taken to break the chain of transmission and provide medical treatment for affected residents. This swift response follows reports of a significant increase in measles cases in the island region. A health team has been deployed to the location to conduct epidemiological investigations and ensure the availability of additional vaccinations for vulnerable groups. The Health Office emphasised that handling the situation in Dudepo Kepulauan is a priority, given the special attention required by its geographical access. Strict monitoring is being carried out by the local community health centre in coordination with the village government to observe developments on the ground. The medical team remains on site to ensure all patients receive intensive care and that the outbreak status can be lifted as soon as the number of cases is under control. Cross-sector coordination has also been strengthened to guarantee the supply of medicines and vitamin A for infected children.
