Gorontalo Governor hands over President's sacrificial cow donation to UNG mosque
Gorontalo Governor Gusnar Ismail handed over a 1.13-tonne sacrificial cow donated by President Prabowo Subianto to Sabilurrasyad Mosque at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo (UNG) on Monday.
The donation handover was attended by UNG Vice Rector III Mohamad Amir Arham, Chief Imam of UNG’s Sabilurrasyad Mosque Haris, UNG leadership, and several Gorontalo Provincial Government officials.
Governor Gusnar Ismail stated that the sacrificial cow donation from President Prabowo Subianto ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriyah is an amanah delivered to the public through the regional government.
“The provincial government is merely passing on the President’s amanah. This sacrificial cow donation is distributed to benefit the public,” he said.
He added that the sacrificial cow was sourced from local Gorontalo livestock, which has been recognised by the Indonesian President.
The Gorontalo Provincial Government also praised Universitas Negeri Gorontalo for being entrusted to manage and distribute the sacrificial meat to beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, UNG Vice Rector III Mohamad Amir Arham, representing the Rector, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in UNG’s Sabilurrasyad Mosque to manage the President’s sacrificial cow donation.
“We will carry out this amanah responsibly and distribute the sacrificial meat to those eligible to receive it,” he said.
