Gorontalo City Police on Full Alert, Ensuring Safe Easter Worship in 2026
Gorontalo (ANTARA) - The Gorontalo City Police (Polresta) are committed to ensuring the security and comfort of the Christian community during the series of 2026 Easter celebrations.
Gorontalo City Police Chief, Commissioner of Police Suryono, stated in Gorontalo on Friday that this commitment is being realised through security arrangements at all churches conducting Good Friday worship.
“Every church holding Easter celebrations has personnel deployed from both Polresta and its sub-stations,” said Suryono.
He explained that security measures begin at church entrances from 08:00 WITA until the entire worship series is completed.
The deployment of personnel at churches has been mapped out and carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP). Additionally, personnel are mobilised for direct monitoring and territorial patrols.
Suryono stated that all these security activities represent a form of service, protection, and guidance for the community, particularly the Christian faithful celebrating Easter.
Since the Easter celebrations began, the security and public order situation in Gorontalo City has been monitored as safe and conducive. Christian worshippers have also conducted their services with devotion and discipline.
“We urge the public to jointly maintain security and public order in their respective environments. If any disturbances are detected, please report them to us, either directly or through the 110 service,” he said.
