Google’s Fitbit Edge Officially Unveiled, Priced from Rp3 Million
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Google introduced its latest fitness tracker, the Fitbit Edge, on 12 October 2026. The device features an AMOLED touchscreen, built-in GPS, health-monitoring functions and a battery claimed to last up to seven days on a single charge.
The Fitbit Edge is designed for users who want activity and health-tracking features without having to wear a large smartwatch. It sits between the screen-free Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch smartwatch range.
According to information from Google, pre-orders for the Fitbit Edge opened on 12 October 2026, with sales scheduled to begin on 27 October 2026. Google is also giving buyers three months of access to Google Health Premium.
Google Fitbit Edge price
The Google Fitbit Edge starts at US$179.99, or around Rp3 million at the estimated exchange rate, before taxes and import charges. This is the price in the US market and may differ when the device is sold in other countries.
Google is also offering a special Stephen Curry edition for US$219.99. It comes with a custom strap developed in collaboration with NBA basketball player Stephen Curry.
At the time of writing, the available information did not confirm the official price or launch date for the Fitbit Edge in Indonesia. The rupiah figure is therefore only an estimated conversion, not the official price for the Indonesian market.
The Fitbit Edge has a 1.34-inch colour AMOLED display with an always-on feature. This allows users to view activity information and notifications without having to manually wake the screen each time.
The device measures 39.22 x 25.56mm and is around 11.58mm thick. It weighs 17.7g without the strap, and its casing is made from recycled aluminium. The Fitbit Edge also has a physical button on the side for easier navigation.
For connectivity, the device supports Bluetooth 5.4 and has built-in GPS, which can track outdoor activities without users always having to carry a phone. It also includes an altimeter to measure changes in elevation while running or doing other physical activities.
Health and fitness features
Google has equipped the Fitbit Edge with a range of features to monitor physical activity and health. The device supports tracking for more than 50 types of exercise, all-day heart-rate monitoring, blood oxygen (SpO2) readings and sleep-quality tracking.
The Fitbit Edge also offers an electrocardiogram (ECG) function to help check heart rhythm, skin-temperature tracking, menstrual-cycle monitoring and irregular heart-rate notifications. The availability of some health features may vary by country and region.
The device also supports Google Health Coach, which uses Gemini artificial intelligence to provide workout recommendations and fitness guidance tailored to users’ activity.
The feature requires a Google Health Premium subscription. Fitbit Edge buyers receive three months’ access free of charge, after which use is subject to the applicable subscription terms. Google says that its health-monitoring and Health Coach features are not intended to replace a professional medical diagnosis or advice.
One of the Fitbit Edge’s key selling points is its claimed battery life of up to seven days on a single charge. It also supports fast charging, with Google claiming that five minutes of charging provides enough power for up to a day’s use.
Actual battery life may vary depending on settings, features used, the environment and usage patterns. Google also describes the Fitbit Edge as its first fitness tracker designed to be repairable, including with a user-replaceable battery. (blog.google)
The device has 5 ATM and IP68 water- and dust-resistance ratings. These ratings do not mean, however, that it is completely waterproof or immune to all forms of water exposure.
Compatible with Android and iPhone
The Fitbit Edge works with most phones running Android 11 or later, as well as iPhones running iOS 16.4 or later. Users need a Google account and the Google Health app to access the device’s features.
In addition to fitness tracking, the device can display call and message notifications, weather information, media controls and daily activity details. However, the Fitbit Edge focuses more on fitness tracking than on offering the full range of smartwatch functions.
With its AMOLED display, built-in GPS, health-monitoring features and claimed battery life of up to seven days, the Google Fitbit Edge offers a new option for users seeking a compact fitness device. Indonesian consumers will nevertheless have to wait for confirmation of official pricing and availability before deciding whether to buy it.
