Google launches Nano Banana 2, an upgraded artificial intelligence model

Jakarta — Google has launched its latest artificial intelligence image generation model called Nano Banana 2, powered by Gemini 3.1 Flash Image.

According to Engadget on Friday, Google stated that Nano Banana 2 brings the capabilities, knowledge, and reasoning abilities previously offered by Nano Banana Pro, but with significantly higher processing speeds.

The model is claimed to be capable of completing editing tasks and generating various image variations from a single text prompt in a short timeframe.

One of its capabilities is extracting information and images in real-time from web search results to create infographics and diagrams.

The model also supports direct text generation on images, making it useful for marketing materials and greeting cards.

Additionally, the model is claimed to follow precise instructions for complex requests and generate images at resolutions up to 4K, with richer texture and sharper detail compared to its predecessor.

Nano Banana 2 will replace Nano Banana Pro as the primary model in the Gemini application. However, Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can still access Nano Banana Pro for specific needs.

This new model will also serve as the default model in the AI Mode feature for Search and Lens, and will be used in Google’s AI-based creative studio, Flow AI.
