Google Launches Gemini Spark in Indonesia, an AI Assistant to Help Manage Daily Routines
GOOGLE has officially expanded the reach of Gemini Spark to Indonesia as a personal artificial intelligence (AI) agent that operates independently 24 hours a day. This technology is designed to complete various complex and time-consuming digital tasks, allowing users to shift their focus to higher-priority activities.
Unlike conventional virtual assistants that are reactive, Gemini Spark is capable of operating autonomously behind the scenes on Google’s cloud infrastructure, even when the user’s device is locked. This feature connects directly with the Google Workspace ecosystem—such as Gmail, Docs, and Sheets—without requiring additional configuration. Currently, Gemini Spark is available in both Indonesian and English, exclusively for subscribers of the Google AI Ultra and Pro packages.
Powered by the Gemini 3.5 processing model, the system operates fully under the control and instructions of the user. Users have full authority to determine the level of application access and to enable or disable the agent’s functions. To maintain security and privacy, Gemini Spark is also required to request explicit confirmation before executing high-risk actions, such as financial transactions or sending emails.
The capabilities of Gemini Spark cover various daily and professional usage scenarios operated through text instructions (prompts). In travel scenarios, the agent can automatically combine flight booking proofs from Gmail into planning documents. Examples of usable instructions include: “Every time a new flight or hotel booking confirmation email arrives, automatically add the details to the Google Sheet ‘Bali Itinerary’” or “Find interesting local events and activities in Bali during my stay, then add them to the calendar on empty days.”
For sports enthusiasts, Spark can monitor sports facilities based on weather conditions with instructions such as: “Every Tuesday at 08:00 AM, check the availability of empty indoor padel courts for the evening. If only outdoor courts are available, notify me only if the weather forecast is sunny.”
For financial monitoring and work productivity, Gemini Spark is capable of processing routine bill monitoring instructions: “On the 1st of every month, audit all digital bills in my Gmail from the previous month. Inform me if there is a subscription price increase or a trial period that is about to end, then create a draft cancellation email.”
Furthermore, users can build a personal writing assistant with instructions: “Study the last 50 emails I have written, then compile them into my email writing style guide. Use that guide as a specialised skill named ‘ghostwriter’ that you use every time I ask you to draft an email.”
The arrival of Gemini Spark marks a shift in the role of artificial intelligence from a mere command-processing tool to an active assistant. Its wide flexibility—ranging from organising travel itineraries and monitoring subscription rates to drafting email responses—serves as a daily automation solution for both professionals and business owners.
