Google introduces Gemini application specifically for Windows PCs

Google has released the Gemini application, specifically designed for computers operating on Windows 10 and 11 systems.

As reported by Engadget on Thursday (10/9), this dedicated application provides an easier way to utilise Google’s AI tools on Windows PCs, following the release of a dedicated app for Mac earlier this year.

Once downloaded, users can open the Gemini application via keyboard shortcuts, mirroring the functionality found on Mac computers.

Nevertheless, it is still recommended that users double-check facts, as the results provided are generated via generative AI.

The application integrates with other Google AI products, allowing tasks to be sent to the Gemini Spark agent assistant. Furthermore, the app functions alongside services such as Gmail and Drive.

The application can also generate images and videos through Nano Banana and Gemini Omni, should users require them.

Google promises that the application is “lightweight and silent,” ensuring it will not slow down computer performance.

The application is available for download now, and the company has stated that more native desktop capabilities will be introduced in the future.
