Google Introduces Ask Maps Feature for Users in Indonesia

Google has introduced the Ask Maps feature for Google Maps users in Indonesia, offering artificial intelligence-based support to facilitate daily mobility and travel across the country. According to a Google press release received in Jakarta on Wednesday, the conversational feature powered by Gemini AI is now accessible in both Bahasa Indonesia and English. The company stated that support for additional local languages will be rolled out gradually in the coming weeks. The Ask Maps feature, which has been released in 150 countries, can help users explore various places and plan trips. In addition to providing real-time information, Ask Maps is supported by Personal Intelligence that connects to a user’s Gmail account to understand preferences based on hotel reservations or flight tickets. In celebration of Indonesia’s Independence Day, Google is campaigning ‘Jelajah Nusantara, Lebih Dekat’ to encourage users of its services to discover new things around them and get to know more parts of the archipelago with the help of Ask Maps. Users can utilise the feature to find legendary culinary spots while on holiday, aesthetic alleyways to capture moments, or cultural heritage sites.
