Jakarta - Google has confirmed that its artificial intelligence (AI) model, Gemini, will be integrated with the new version of the virtual assistant Siri, which is more personalised and scheduled to launch in 2026. Citing Macrumors on Wednesday (22/4) local time, the information was delivered by Google Cloud Chief Executive Officer Thomas Kurian at the Google Cloud Next 2026 event taking place in Las Vegas, United States. Thomas stated that Google and Apple are collaborating to develop a new generation of Apple Foundation Models with a foundation from Gemini technology to support future Apple Intelligence features. Previously, Apple delayed the launch of the new generation Siri in March 2025 and at that time stated that the feature would be available the following year. At the end of 2025, Apple again confirmed that the Siri update is scheduled to arrive in 2026. Apple had initially targeted the launch of the new Siri version for spring 2026, but due to accuracy constraints, the company made schedule adjustments. Previously, Apple was also reported to have requested the use of Google data centres to support cloud computing needs when the new Siri version is officially launched. Apple is scheduled to introduce iOS 27 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) starting on 8 June 2026. Updates related to Siri are estimated to be announced at that event.
