At the Indonesia Leaders’ Connect 2026 event held on Wednesday (15 July), Google Cloud officially introduced its strategic vision to accelerate agentic AI transformation in the country.

At the event, Karim Siregar, recently appointed as Country Director of Google Cloud Indonesia, emphasised the importance of a paradigm shift from merely being “cloud first” to becoming “AI ready”.

This vision aims to help organisations boost workforce productivity, optimise operational performance, and deliver more personalised user experiences through AI capabilities that are sophisticated yet secure and measurable.

Karim Siregar stated that Indonesia is a unique market, with millions of mobile-first users spread across metropolitan areas as well as tier-2 and tier-3 cities. This situation demands engineering solutions capable of handling high volumes and complexity.

“Google Cloud offers a unified AI stack and the Gemini Enterprise platform to eliminate the burden of integrating fragmented systems. This helps large enterprises modernise legacy infrastructure, manage tokenomics in a measurable way, and take autonomous agents from the experimentation stage to production with tangible ROI,” said Karim.

Several prominent organisations in Indonesia have begun to reap real benefits from strategic partnerships with Google Cloud through the use of Gemini Enterprise.

Google Cloud gives companies greater control over managing the economics of AI (tokenomics). Through Gemini Enterprise, businesses can select the right model size according to their needs to ensure cost efficiency. With ownership of its own vertical stack—from custom TPUs to Gemini models—Google Cloud can significantly reduce the cost per token for customers.

In addition, FinOps and governance tools are available that provide cost transparency for IT and finance leaders, allowing innovation to be scaled without the risk of unexpected cost spikes.

As a concrete step to accelerate implementation, Google Cloud is expanding its Forward-Deployed Engineer (FDE) team in Indonesia. These AI specialists will be embedded directly in customers’ working environments as an extension of their internal engineering teams.

Direct support from Google’s product and research teams is expected to reduce the risk of AI project failure and speed up the transition from the trial phase to core business production environments, such as automated data analysis and supply chain efficiency.

“Success in the AI era is not about using AI ‘somewhere’, but about integrating it directly into workflows with clear business outcomes,” Karim Siregar concluded.
