Las Vegas (ANTARA) - Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian stated that the economic growth of the Republic of Indonesia is a magnet for international companies to strengthen their digital presence in the country.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the Google Cloud Next ’26 event in Las Vegas, United States, on Thursday (23/4) local time, Kurian said there is a trend of increasing cooperation with global companies that want to use their cloud infrastructure specifically to serve customers in Indonesia.

“We are also seeing that now, as Indonesia’s economy develops, international companies are working with us because they want to place their systems to serve customers in Indonesia,” he said.

“We are also seeing international companies talking to us about using our cloud to host their systems for customers in Indonesia,” he added.

Kurian explained that Google Cloud has a large number of customers in Indonesia, ranging from commercial companies, small businesses, to government entities.

He further reaffirmed the technology giant’s commitment to continue investing in bringing the latest technology to the country.

According to him, the implementation of Gemini and Google Workspace is becoming flagship products that are now being massively adopted by local industry players in various strategic sectors.

“There are several examples of companies in Indonesia using our AI tools, whether it’s AI technology in Workspace or our data platform or our Gemini portfolio products. And you will see us continue to invest in bringing our technology to companies in Indonesia,” he emphasised.

Furthermore, Kurian touched on the latest wave of innovations just introduced at Google Cloud Next ’26, designed to help every organisation in Southeast Asia collaborate in business with AI becoming an Agentic Enterprise.

Based on a unified stack designed to transform intelligence into a growth engine, AI is no longer in its first version with chat systems where people ask questions, and AI provides answers.

Instead, AI is now moving towards artificial intelligence agents or autonomous Artificial Intelligence (AI) that can understand, reason, and act to generate real impact.

“The second version of AI, I give instructions to the model, and then those instructions are used to generate images or videos. And that is the second skill where the model can create content for you,” he said.
