Google has extended the reach of Gemini support in Chrome to more countries. According to a GSM Arena report on Wednesday (10/6), the artificial intelligence-based assistant is now integrated into Chrome for desktop and iOS devices in a number of countries across Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. Information on the Google Help Centre shows that access to Gemini in Chrome is also available in Asian nations such as Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as the Palestinian territories and Australia. However, the service is not yet available to users in the European Union. Gemini in Chrome was launched last year in the United States, and in March 2026 its reach was expanded to Canada, New Zealand, and India. This integration allows Gemini to understand and access the Chrome tabs and windows a user is currently using, enabling it to help with various activities without needing to switch pages. Gemini in Chrome can summarise content, compare information from several tabs at once, and utilise the Nano Banana 2 model to generate and edit images. Gemini in Chrome also supports integration with various Google applications to perform tasks such as scheduling meetings in Calendar, checking location details in Maps, sending emails in Gmail, and answering users’ questions about YouTube videos. All of this can be done in the browser’s side panel, so users do not need to leave the page they are viewing to take advantage of Gemini’s support.
