Good Practices by Regional Governments Become Inspiration for National Development

The President Director of Metro TV and Media Indonesia, Arief Suditomo, emphasised that the current momentum serves as a crucial stepping stone to provide the highest appreciation for the hard work and dedication of local governments across Indonesia. He stated this during the 2026 Regional Awards for High-Achieving Local Governments for the Java and Bali Islands.

The event, organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), took place on Thursday (4/6/2026) evening at the Marriott Hotel, Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The ceremony serves as a tribute to regions that have demonstrated innovation and superior performance in development.

In his speech, Arief Suditomo highlighted the vital role of local governments as the frontline in maintaining stability, security, and public welfare amidst challenging global dynamics. “We believe there are many best practices introduced by local governments that are moving forward rapidly. This must serve as an inspiration for all of us to learn together,” said Arief.

He added that the success of regions in finding solutions to various societal issues is tangible evidence of the state’s presence. These efforts include price controls, job creation, reducing stunting and poverty rates, as well as accelerating infrastructure development and community empowerment.

Arief also expressed special appreciation for the controlled inflation rates in various regions. According to him, this achievement proves that the synergy between programmes initiated by the central and local governments is functioning effectively and delivering satisfying real impacts for the community.

“We believe there are many best practices implemented by regional governments that will inspire us to learn together, not only for other regions but also for the development of Indonesia as a whole,” he noted.

The awards ceremony is expected not merely to be a ceremonial event, but to encourage the birth of sustainable development innovations aligned with the grand vision of Indonesia Emas 2045. “Finally, we congratulate all regional communities across Indonesia,” Arief concluded.
