Good News! PPPK Teachers Given Opportunity to Take Civil Service Test Next Year
Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Rini Widyantini has confirmed that teachers holding Government Employee with Work Agreement (PPPK) status will be given the opportunity to sit the Civil Service Candidate (CPNS) examination next year.
Part-time PPPK teachers will be given the opportunity to be appointed as full-time PPPK staff in 2027.
“As conveyed by the leadership earlier, part-time PPPK staff will be given the opportunity to become full-time PPPK staff, which will be carried out in 2027. Furthermore, PPPK teachers will also be given the opportunity to take part in the civil service selection, with registration expected to open in early 2027,” Rini said following a meeting between the government and the House of Representatives (DPR) on Tuesday (18/8/2026).
According to data from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, there are 955,245 teachers with PPPK status. Meanwhile, part-time PPPK teachers number 231,246.
On this occasion, the Minister also stated that the government will open selection for teacher vacancies this year. According to Rini, the total projected national teacher requirement is 526,689 positions, particularly for Sekolah Rakyat and Sekolah Garuda.
“We will also open recruitment for the projected national teacher needs for 2026, including for Sekolah Rakyat, integrated schools, and Sekolah Garuda,” Rini said.
