GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) will scrap the GoRide Hemat subscription scheme, which charged driver partners or online motorcycle-taxi drivers. The programme is a paid system for ojek online (ojol) drivers to access tariffs or earnings structures different from the regular system.

“We decided to discontinue the subscription programme, effective in the near future,” GoTo Chief Executive Hans Patuwo said at a press conference at GoTo’s office in Jakarta on Tuesday (19 May 2026). He explained that the GoRide Hemat subscription programme for driver partners was initially tested in a limited manner since November 2025, then expanded nationwide since February 2026.

“After three months, we conducted an in-depth review and found that this subscription scheme needs a better balance for the welfare of driver partners,” he said.

As part of removing the subscription scheme, the revenue-sharing scheme for GoRide Hemat will in future align with GoRide Reguler, whereby driver partners will be charged an 8 percent cut per trip. The 8 percent cut is described as a follow-on from the government directive that set a lower revenue share for ojol drivers from the previous 20 percent per trip.

Thus, he added, there will be price adjustments at the consumer level for using the GoRide Hemat service.

“Regarding the GoRide Hemat service, there will be only a very limited adjustment of consumer prices. We will ensure the adjustment is measured and keeps affordability for the public,” he said.

Hans also hopes the policy will bring benefits and protect the welfare of Gojek’s driver partners.

As for the exact timing of the implementation of the revenue-share reduction to 8 percent and the elimination of the GoRide Hemat subscription scheme, Hans said it would be implemented soon. Because, the company is awaiting the issuance of Perpres 27/2026 to understand the detailed provisions regulated by the government.

“For the implementation, we will do it as soon as possible, but again we are waiting for the Perpres instructions and its preparations,” he concluded.
