Golkar Urges Young Cadres to Be Adaptive in Facing Changing Times

The Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Golkar Party has urged the young cadres of the banyan tree party to be adaptive to the changing times and to keep the party relevant to various developments within society. According to Golkar Party DPP Secretary General M. Sarmuji, old ways are not always relevant for facing new challenges, making the ability to adjust one of the keys to organisational success. “What we did yesterday may not necessarily be suitable for what we face today. The ability to adapt and adjust to the times is the key to remaining relevant to the current situation,” Sarmuji said at the Golkar Party DPP office in Jakarta early on Saturday. He made the statement following the opening of the National Young Cadre Training for the Golkar Party’s Young Generation Force (AMPG) Batch III of 2026, which was held in conjunction with the AMPG National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas). “This training is vital for the Golkar Party because it prepares young people who have character as well as good insight, understand problems, and can solve them,” he said. The activity is part of the party’s efforts to prepare young cadres who have character, leadership capacity, and the ability to answer evolving political challenges. Meanwhile, AMPG General Chairman Said Aldi Al Idrus said the opening of the training began with the Rapimnas, which was attended by 36 AMPG regional boards from across Indonesia. According to Said, the implementation of the Rapimnas and the training was a direct directive from Golkar Party DPP General Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia and Secretary General M. Sarmuji for AMPG to continue strengthening organisational consolidation while improving cadre quality. “After this, we will hold a three-day training, starting tomorrow until Sunday. This activity is part of the effort to strengthen AMPG’s cadre development throughout Indonesia,” said Said. He explained that the training participants this time are the newly elected AMPG chairpersons at the provincial level through Golkar Party regional conferences. Therefore, the activity is focused on aligning the organisation’s vision and mission so that all administrators have the same direction. In addition to cadre education, the series of activities also includes a tree-planting movement as a form of environmental awareness. AMPG has prepared to plant 444,444 trees nationally, while in Jakarta it will begin with the symbolic planting of 444 banyan trees involving all training participants. Said explained that the number was chosen as a symbol of the Golkar Party’s identity, which has the electoral number four.
