Golkar Urges Young Cadres to Be Adaptive in Facing Changing Times

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Golkar Party has urged its young cadres, members of the party bearing the banyan tree symbol, to adapt to the changing times and keep the party relevant amid developments in society.

According to Golkar DPP Secretary-General M. Sarmuji, old methods are not always relevant when facing new challenges, so the ability to adapt is one of the keys to organisational success.

“What we did yesterday may not necessarily be suitable for what we face today. The ability to adapt and adjust to the developments of the times is the key to remaining relevant to the current situation,” said Sarmuji at the Golkar DPP office in Jakarta in the early hours of Saturday.

He made the remarks following the opening of the Third Wave of the 2026 National Young Cadre Training of the Golkar Party’s Young Generation (AMPG), combined with the AMPG National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas).

“For the Golkar Party, this training is vital because it prepares young people who possess character as well as strong insight, understand problems, and can solve them,” he said.

The event forms part of the party’s efforts to prepare young cadres with character, leadership capacity, and the ability to respond to ever-evolving political challenges.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the AMPG Central Board Said Aldi Al Idrus said the training opened with a Rapimnas attended by 36 AMPG regional boards (DPD) from across Indonesia.

According to Said, the Rapimnas and training were held on the direct instruction of Golkar DPP Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia together with DPP Secretary-General M. Sarmuji, so that AMPG continues to strengthen organisational consolidation while improving cadre quality.

“After this, we will hold training for three days, starting tomorrow until Sunday. This activity is part of our efforts to strengthen AMPG cadre development throughout Indonesia,” said Said.

He explained that the training participants are the newly elected AMPG provincial chairs chosen through the party’s regional deliberations. Therefore, the event is focused on aligning the organisation’s vision and mission so that all officials move in the same direction.

In addition to cadre education, the series of events includes a tree-planting movement as a form of environmental care.

AMPG is preparing to plant 444,444 trees nationally, while in Jakarta it will begin with the symbolic planting of 444 banyan trees involving all training participants.

According to Said, the figure was chosen as a symbol of the Golkar Party’s identity, which holds ballot number four.
