Jakarta — Golkar Party Secretary General Muhammad Sarmuji has called on the Indonesian Government to mobilise international forces to encourage an end to the war and return the conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran to diplomatic channels for resolution.

“Indonesia must play an active role, mobilise international forces, and push for conflict resolution through diplomatic channels. Peace is a common interest of all humanity,” said Sarmuji in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.

Golkar Party, according to Sarmuji, stressed that war is not a solution. Global stability, the safety of civilians, and world order must be the top priority of all nations.

Sarmuji, as Chairman of the Golkar Party Faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives, emphasised that Golkar is a party that consistently supports Indonesia’s independent and active foreign policy.

Golkar Party also urged the United Nations to take swift and concrete steps to end the conflict, which is destructive and dangerous to world order.

“We urge the United Nations to take swift and concrete steps to stop the war, which is extremely destructive and dangerous to world order,” said Sarmuji.

Golkar Party also expressed deep disappointment and concern over the failure of negotiations between the United States and Iran, which resulted in military attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran, triggering an open war that harms civilians.

“Golkar Party regrets and expresses deep disappointment over the failure of negotiations and diplomacy that led to open war. This war clearly harms the people only. We urge both sides to exercise restraint and immediately stop the war,” Sarmuji stated firmly.

Golkar Party also extended profound condolences for the loss of life in the conflict, including the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and family members, along with other casualties.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the passing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family and all other victims. Every life lost is a human tragedy that cannot be justified by any reason,” he said.

According to Golkar Party, the war between the United States and Israel against Iran is not a simple conflict, but rather a highly complex and multidimensional issue—involving geopolitical, regional security, global economic, and world energy stability aspects.

“This war is extremely complex and multidimensional. Therefore, its resolution cannot be achieved through military force. The only way is to return to the negotiating table and resolve it through a diplomatic approach,” Sarmuji stated.
