Golkar Party’s Deputy Secretary-General, Yahya Zaini, has responded to the stabbing death of Agrapinus Rumatora, alias Nus Kei, the Chairman of the DPD II Golkar Party in Southeast Maluku, at Karel Sadsuitubun Ibra Airport in Southeast Maluku. Yahya has urged that the perpetrators receive severe punishment.

“I convey my deepest condolences over the death of the Chairman of the Golkar Party’s DPD in Southeast Maluku,” Yahya told reporters on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

“I urge law enforcement authorities to thoroughly investigate the case and request that the court impose the heaviest and fairest possible punishment,” he added.

Yahya assured that the Golkar Party’s central board would monitor the case. He also stated that the central board is ready to provide legal assistance to the family to ensure justice is upheld.

“We strongly condemn this case and request that such incidents do not recur in the future,” he said.

This Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the DPR advised all Golkar cadres, especially in Maluku and Southeast Maluku, to remain calm and maintain party solidarity. Additionally, he urged cadres to be vigilant against criminal acts.

“We ask the public to monitor the investigation process by law enforcement authorities transparently and fairly,” he stated.

Furthermore, Yahya said his party does not rule out conducting an internal investigation. In particular, he noted, the victim was one of the party’s local leaders.

“We do not rule out the possibility of the Golkar Party conducting an internal investigation. Given that the case involves the victim, the Chairman of the Golkar Party’s DPD in Southeast Maluku Regency,” he explained.

Previously, police investigated allegations of premeditated murder against the Chairman of the DPD II Golkar Party in Southeast Maluku, Agrapinus Rumatora alias Nus Kei. Police examined six individuals to deepen the case.

“Therefore, we are still developing (regarding the allegations of premeditated murder). But that is the article demanded (premeditated murder) applied by investigators in handling the case,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Regional Police, Commissioner Rositah Umasugi, as quoted by detikSulsel on Monday (20/4/2026).

Police have also examined two perpetrators, Hendrikus Rahayaan (28) and Finansius Ulukyanan (36). “So the six witnesses include two perpetrators, the reporting witness, and witnesses present at the crime scene,” she explained.
