Golkar to Officially Decide on Supporting Prabowo-Gibran for Two Terms

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Golkar Party Deputy Chairman Ace Hasan Syadzily stated the party will officially decide on supporting President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka for two terms.

Ace said Golkar is currently focused on ensuring the success of the Prabowo-Gibran administration.

He added the party has consistently supported the government and is accountable for its programmes.

“Even if successful, we will support them again,” he said.

The support is not spontaneous but based on directives from former President Joko Widodo, reinforced during the Second Plenary Session of DPP Bara JP on Saturday (23 May 2025).

“President Jokowi instructed Bara JP to support Prabowo-Gibran for two terms. Therefore, we will continue to oversee this,” said Frans while presenting the outcomes of the Second Plenary Session of DPP Bara JP held at Park Hotel Cawang in East Jakarta on Saturday.

“We have not received such a directive. His guidance to date is to support Prabowo-Gibran for two terms,” he said.

Frans said Bara JP will also clarify opinions conflicting with the support direction.

In addition to discussing support for the Prabowo-Gibran administration, the Second Plenary Session of Bara JP evaluated the organisation’s work programmes over nearly a year of tenure.

Bara JP reaffirmed its support for government programmes such as Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), Red and White Cooperatives, and People’s Schools.

According to Frans, criticisms of these programmes will not alter the organisation’s stance in supporting the current government.

Furthermore, Bara JP expressed support for President Prabowo’s independent active foreign policy amid the current global situation.
