Jakarta - The Golkar Party will hold a National Easter celebration through a music performance and national reflection at the Senayan Indoor Tennis venue in Jakarta on Friday (24/4/2026). Deputy Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board, Ace Hasan Syadzily, stated that the National Easter celebration is internal but will still involve several Christian religious figures and organisations. “Although this is an internal event, we will also invite leaders of Christian religious organisations such as PGI, KWI, and other organisations that have been actively nurturing Christian communities,” said Ace at the Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board office on Tuesday (21/4/2026). According to the plan, around 3,500 cadres and figures from various religious organisations will attend the event as a manifestation of commitment to pluralism and Pancasila values. Ace mentioned that this Easter celebration is a tangible form of respect for differences as well as the implementation of Pancasila values. “The Golkar Party is a party born from the womb of Pancasila. Therefore, we greatly appreciate and respect all religions. This National Easter celebration is a tangible manifestation that Golkar celebrates and appreciates differences,” he said. The Easter momentum, he continued, is interpreted as part of reflection on the plurality that forms the foundation of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Meanwhile, Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena, as the organising committee chairman, explained that this event is part of Golkar’s commitment to celebrating major religious holidays from various religions. “This is part of the Golkar Party’s commitment to celebrating all religious holidays. Last year, a Christmas event was planned but not carried out. This year, I have been tasked with organising the National Easter,” he said. The event will be filled with music performances and Easter reflections by religious figures from Protestant and Catholic Christian circles. In addition, the committee will also distribute social assistance as part of the spirit of sharing during the Easter momentum. “We will also provide support for renovations to five churches in various regions that need it, as well as assistance for orphanages, both Protestant Christian, Catholic, and Muslim,” said Melki. “This event is organised by, for, and for the cadres of the Golkar Party, especially those who are Christian. However, we also thank friends from across religions, including Muslims, who have helped so that this event can run well,” he added. Melki hopes that this National Easter celebration can become a momentum for the revival of the spirit of inclusivity and togetherness amid Indonesia’s diversity.
