Golkar to Appoint Acting Chairman of Southeast Maluku Branch Following Nus Kei's Stabbing Death
Deputy General Chairman of the Golkar Party, Ace Hasan Syadzily, stated that his party will soon appoint an acting chairman for the Southeast Maluku Golkar DPD. The position became vacant following the stabbing death of the Southeast Maluku Golkar DPD Chairman, Agrapinus Rumatora, or Nus Kei, at the airport.
“The provincial DPD will soon appoint an acting official (Plt) to fill the leadership vacancy,” Ace told reporters at the Golkar DPP Office in West Jakarta on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
Ace noted that Golkar’s current focus is on maintaining internal stability. The appointment of an acting chairman, he said, is an initial handling step before the Regional Deliberation (Musda) to appoint a chairman.
“There will certainly be further organisational steps to keep the atmosphere conducive before the Musda is held,” he stated.
However, Ace mentioned that the Musda agenda has not yet been scheduled. Golkar is still awaiting a more conducive situation.
“Therefore, the Maluku Provincial DPD will take further organisational steps to make the atmosphere conducive for holding the Musda,” he said.
Previously, police investigated allegations of premeditated murder against the Chairman of DPD II of the Golkar Party in Southeast Maluku, Agrapinus Rumatora alias Nus Kei. Police examined six people to delve into the case.
“That’s why we are still developing (regarding the allegations of premeditated murder). But that is the article demanded (premeditated murder) applied by investigators in handling the case,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Regional Police, Commissioner Rositah Umasugi, as quoted by detikSulsel on Monday (20/4).
Police have also examined two perpetrators, namely Hendrikus Rahayaan (28) and Finansius Ulukyanan (36). “So the six witnesses include two perpetrators, the reporting witness, and witnesses present at the scene of the incident (TKP),” she explained.
