Golkar Supports Simple Open Houses for Officials: Does Not Reduce Social Bonds
Cabinet Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has issued a circular regarding officials not holding excessive open houses for Eid 2026. Supporting this appeal, the Golkar Party believes that non-excessive open houses do not reduce social bonds.
“Yes, I think the government’s appeal is a very positive one amid the geopolitical situation that impacts our domestic conditions,” said Golkar Deputy Chairman Ace Hasan Syadzily to reporters at the Golkar DPP office in Slipi, West Jakarta, on Saturday (21/3/2026).
Ace assessed that this would not reduce Eid social bonds among the faithful. However, the hope is to encourage the public to be more efficient and practise greater savings to better face the situation.
“And therefore, without reducing our social bonds among fellow citizens and fellow believers. Of course, we hope the public is encouraged to be more efficient, to practise more savings,” he explained.
“And of course, we prioritise our national interests so that the current situation we face can be handled as best as possible, thus allowing us to improve the current situation,” he added.
Ace then conveyed a message from Golkar Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia on the Eid al-Fitr occasion. Bahlil performed Eid prayers in Fakfak, Southwest Papua, which is seen as showing that Eid can be celebrated anywhere.
“Yes, Mr Bahlil as General Chairman conveys greetings to the Indonesian people. And Mr Bahlil, by celebrating in Fakfak, shows an attitude that Eid al-Fitr celebrations can also be held,” he said.
“Not only in Jakarta but also far away in eastern Indonesia, everyone celebrates the same joy amid the Eid al-Fitr festivities, which we must welcome with full joy,” he concluded.
It is known that the Presidential Palace issued a circular to all officials to not hold excessive open houses for Eid 2026. The announcement regarding the circular prohibiting excessive open houses was conveyed by Cabinet Secretary Prasetyo Hadi on Tuesday (17/3) some time ago.
