The Central Executive Board of the Golkar Party has expressed its support for the government’s call to hold Eid celebrations in 2026 in a simple manner. This appeal is deemed relevant to the current situation, which is also impacting the domestic landscape.

Deputy General Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board, Ace Hasan Syadzily, affirmed that this step is a wise stance amid global geopolitical pressures.

“Yes, I think the government’s appeal is a very positive one in the midst of the aforementioned geopolitical situation that impacts our domestic conditions,” he said at the Syaharatun Thayyibah Mosque, Golkar Central Executive Board, West Jakarta, on Saturday, 21 March 2026.

According to Ace, simplicity does not mean reducing the meaning of Eid al-Fitr. Instead, he views the Eid momentum as still meaningful by strengthening ties with fellow citizens and the ummah without excessive spending.

“And therefore, without reducing our ties among fellow citizens and the ummah, we certainly hope that society is encouraged to be more efficient, to practise more savings,” he stated.

He also reminded that the current global conditions have real impacts on Indonesia. Therefore, national interests must remain the top priority in facing the existing situation.

“And of course, we prioritise our national interests so that the situation we face now will be handled as best as possible, thus we can face the current situation in a better way,” he added.

Not only regarding the economy, Golkar also highlighted the meaning of Eid al-Fitr as a moment for self-reflection. The values of Ramadan are hoped to remain embedded in daily life.

“Eid al-Fitr is an effort to bring the spirit of Ramadan to control oneself,” said Ace.

Ace also invited the public to maintain unity and strengthen solidarity amid ongoing global uncertainties.

“We maintain togetherness, kinship, and enhance social care,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Golkar Party General Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia is known to be celebrating Eid al-Fitr in Fakfak, West Papua. This is said to symbolise that the joy of Eid is felt evenly across the entire nation.

“Eid al-Fitr is celebrated with joy throughout Indonesia,” he added.
