The Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Branch Executive Board (DPC) for Southeast Maluku, Maluku, Agrapinus Rumatora alias Nus Kei, has died after being stabbed by an unidentified individual at Karel Sadsuitubun Airport. The victim was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.

The incident took place in the airport area in Kei Kecil Subdistrict on Sunday (19/4) around 11.25 WIT. At the time, Nus Kei had just arrived after a flight from Jakarta.

“The occurrence of a stabbing criminal act that resulted in the death of the Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Southeast Maluku District Branch, Agrapinus Rumatora alias Nus Kei,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Regional Police, Commissioner Rositah Umasugi, on Sunday (19/4).

According to police statements, the perpetrator suddenly attacked the victim with a sharp weapon before fleeing the scene.

“Suddenly, the victim was stabbed by an unidentified person using a knife. The suspected perpetrator immediately fled after the incident,” she explained.

The victim was then taken to Karel Sadsuitubun Hospital around 12.00 WIT for medical treatment. However, his life could not be saved due to the injuries sustained.

“He was treated at the hospital, but the medical team declared the victim deceased due to the wounds he suffered,” she clarified.

To date, police apparatus are still pursuing the perpetrator. Meanwhile, the motive for the stabbing is still under further investigation.

“For the motive, it is currently still being investigated in depth by the investigators,” she added.
