Golkar reveals Nusron resigned from party leadership long ago

The Secretary General of the Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board (DPP), M. Sarmuji, has revealed that Nusron Wahid has resigned from the party’s central leadership management.

“It has been a long time. As I recall, more than six months ago,” Sarmuji stated when contacted in Jakarta on Saturday.

Nusron previously served as the Head of the Religious and Spiritual Affairs Division of the Golkar Party’s DPP. Following his resignation, Sarmuji disclosed that Nusron remains a regular member and cadre of the Golkar Party.

He noted that Nusron submitted his resignation directly to the General Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia. However, he did not know the exact reason why the man, who currently serves as the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), decided to step down.

“Perhaps he wants to focus on other matters,” he said.

In the structure of the Golkar Party’s DPP management for the 2024–2029 period, led by Bahlil Lahadalia, Nusron was recorded as the Head of the Religious and Spiritual Affairs Division within Electoral Function 1.

Nusron’s name has recently surfaced following an operation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) within the Ministry of ATR/BPN regarding alleged bribery related to the Building Use Rights (HGB) of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk.

Nusron Wahid has asserted that he has no knowledge of the details regarding the case. Meanwhile, the Ministry of ATR/BPN has denied rumours suggesting that Nusron has resigned from his ministerial position.
