The Secretary General of the Golkar Party, Muhamad Sarmuji, spoke on the husband and son of Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq, who is also a Golkar member, and who are suspected of receiving funds in the alleged corruption case. Sarmuji gave a brief response when asked about it after attending a Breaking Fast gathering at the party’s central office in Slipi, West Jakarta, on Friday evening (6 March). According to Sarmuji, Golkar respects the ongoing legal process. ‘We will just await the legal process; we respect the legal process,’ he told journalists. The alleged involvement of Fadia’s husband and son in the case was traced through a company run by the Golkar politician’s family. PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya (RNB) is the company founded by Fadia’s husband and son, and it is known to have won a majority of the agency tenders in Pekalongan Regency. According to the KPK, the company was established a year after Fadia became regent for the 2021-2025 term. Fadia has been charged by the KPK as head of the local government and as the Beneficial Owner (BO) of PT RNB. Fadia’s husband, Mukhtaruddin Ashraff Abu (ASH), is a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for 2024-2029, and her son, Muhammad Sabiq Ashraff (MSA), is a member of the Pekalongan Regional House of Representatives (DPRD Pekalongan). Like Fadia, both are Golkar cadres. Neither Mukhtaruddin nor Sabiq has been named as a suspect, though the KPK says it is involved in receiving and benefiting from the alleged illicit funds involved in Fadia’s activities. Fadia has been detained at the KPK Detention House, Gedung Merah Putih branch, for an initial 20 days up to 23 March 2026. She was previously implicated in a case of alleged corruption linked to outsourcing services and other procurements in the 2023-2026 budget. The KPK says that during 2023-2026 the total value of transactions into PT RNB reached Rp46 billion, sourced from contracts between PT RNB and units within the Pekalongan Regency government. The KPK has confirmed it will summon Fadia’s husband and son as the case develops. ‘Naturally, investigators will summon the husband and son, in relation to the alleged acceptance of funds and the management of PT RNB (Raja Nusantara Berjaya),’ said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when contacted in writing on Friday (6 March).
