Golkar Prepares Early Strategy, Targets Leadership Positions in 2029 Jakarta Regional Parliament
JAKARTA — The Regional Leadership Council of the Golkar Party in Jakarta has begun warming up its political machinery early through consolidation of cadres and grassroots base-building efforts.
This endeavour is being undertaken to secure strategic positions in the Jakarta Regional Parliament during the 2029 elections, with a target of increasing seats from 10 to 15, including leadership positions in the parliament.
“The election is still in 2029, and we hope that they [the cadres] will already know the target from a long time ago,” said Zaki on Monday (16 March 2026), as cited by Antara.
The activities with party wing organisations occurred during a joint breaking of the fast gathering at the Golkar DKI Regional Leadership Council building on Monday.
During the occasion, Zaki emphasised that setting targets from the outset is important so cadres can be active in the community and build communication with constituents.
“So that all cadres can move among the community and convince residents later,” Zaki said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the MKGR Jakarta, Basri Baco, stressed the role of Golkar cadres in strengthening the party’s base ahead of the political contest in 2029.
“For Bapera, hopefully everyone can unite and support potential candidates from Golkar. God willing, in 2029, our seats will increase from 10 to 15 people,” said Baco.
