Golkar Praises Prabowo's 8 Priorities in 2027 State Budget Draft: A Clear Direction for National Development
Chairman of the Golkar Party faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), M Sarmuji, has expressed appreciation for the presentation of the Draft Law on the 2027 State Budget (RAPBN) and its accompanying Financial Note delivered by President Prabowo Subianto. Sarmuji said the eight priorities presented by Prabowo reflect a well-directed map of national development.
“The President’s speech gives a clear direction of where Indonesia is heading. The President has convinced us that every development step designed in the 2027 RAPBN is a concrete step that brings our nation closer to the ideals of independence,” Sarmuji said in his statement on Sunday (16/8/2026).
The Secretary General of the Golkar Party said Prabowo was not only talking about setting policy direction, but also explaining how to achieve it. He cited the consolidation of government procurement of goods and services, which succeeded in reducing the price of Interactive Flat Panels (IFP) from around Rp 150 million to Rp 26 million per unit without reducing the volume or quality of the goods.
“This is a clear example of how efficiency can be achieved not by cutting benefits for the people, but by improving the way the government works. The President is not only talking about what he wants to achieve, but also showing how to achieve it,” he said.
Sarmuji also appreciated the President’s commitment to improving access to and quality of education, especially for underprivileged citizens, through the Sekolah Rakyat (People’s Schools) and Garuda Scholarship programmes. This is also evidenced by the achievement of 93 permanent people’s schools and 182 pilot people’s schools, as well as hundreds of students who have been sent to the world’s best universities through the Garuda Scholarship.
“Only through education can a nation experience a leap forward. Sekolah Rakyat and the Garuda Scholarship show that the state is present to ensure that children from underprivileged families still have a path to obtain the best education, even up to the world’s top universities,” he explained.
Sarmuji highlighted the plan to establish a strategic mineral and commodity exchange announced by Prabowo to strengthen national economic sovereignty. The Golkar Party faction, he said, fully supports this step and is ready to oversee the discussion of the 2027 RAPBN together with the government constructively.
“We must build a commodity exchange so that Indonesia can determine the price of its own flagship commodities. So far, we have been a major world producer of various strategic commodities, but their prices are actually determined abroad,” he said.
“With a commodity exchange, we can create added value, maintain price stability, and ultimately have a direct impact on state revenue and the prosperity of the people,” he added.
Previously, as reported by detikFinance, President Prabowo Subianto presented the 2027 State Budget (APBN) of Rp 4,097.2 trillion. This figure is up from the 2026 APBN of Rp 3,842.7 trillion.
Prabowo revealed this during the Presentation of the Government’s Introduction/Statement on the Bill concerning the 2027 State Budget and its Financial Note and Supporting Documents at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (14/8/2026).
Prabowo said the budget would be used to implement eight National Priority Work Programmes (PKPN), namely food sovereignty; energy and water self-sufficiency; education; health; downstreaming and industrialisation; infrastructure; housing and disaster resilience; strengthening the people’s economy and village development; and poverty reduction.
“To carry out all these agendas, state expenditure for 2027 is planned at Rp 4,097.2 trillion, up from Rp 3,842.7 trillion in the 2026 APBN,” Prabowo said.
