REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Golkar Party has once again organised the Free Homecoming 2026 programme, departing thousands of participants to various regions on the island of Java. The departure of participants took place from the Golkar Party Central Executive Board Office in West Jakarta, using dozens of bus fleets, on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

The General Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, personally saw off the departing travellers. He emphasised that this programme is a party tradition as a tangible form of Golkar’s presence among the people.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Secretary-General for Electoral Function 2 of the Golkar Party Central Executive Board, Daniel Muttaqien Syafiuddin, affirmed that this free homecoming programme is a real commitment from the party to assist the community.

“This programme is not just an annual agenda, but a manifestation of our concern to help the community return to their hometowns safely, comfortably, and affordably,” said Daniel, who is also a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission V.

He added that homecoming holds important significance as a moment to strengthen family ties as well as to maintain values of togetherness in the community.

“This is also part of the Golkar Party’s efforts to continue to be present and provide direct benefits,” he continued.

The Golkar Free Homecoming 2026 programme covers various cities in Central Java, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, East Java, and West Java. The route distribution was planned to ensure effective and targeted participant distribution.

In addition to providing free transportation, the organising committee also distributed pocket money, food aid packages, and various other supporting facilities to enhance the comfort of the participants’ journeys.

Through this programme, the Golkar Party hopes to continue strengthening its closeness with the community and delivering real contributions, especially during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period.
