Golkar Party Leader Nus Kei Stabbed to Death, Party Urges Cadres to Remain Vigilant and Not Provoke the Situation

Jakarta – Golkar Party Secretary General, M. Sarmuji, has urged all party cadres to increase their vigilance following the death of the Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Maluku Tenggara Regional Board, Agrapinus Rumatora alias Nus Kei. He called on all Golkar cadres not to be provoked by the incident, stating that the police will soon investigate Nus Kei’s death in depth. “To the cadres, remain vigilant but do not get provoked by the situation. Let us entrust the police apparatus to thoroughly investigate the incident,” Sarmuji told reporters on Sunday, 19 April 2026. Sarmuji also conveyed condolences over Nus Kei’s death. The Golkar Party wants the police to thoroughly investigate the stabbing incident. “We are deeply saddened, grieving, and angry about this incident. We extend our condolences to the family and the extended family of the Maluku Regional Board, particularly Maluku Tenggara. We demand that the police thoroughly investigate the incident,” he said. It is known that a bloody incident shook Karel Sadsuitubun Airport in Maluku Tenggara. The Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Maluku Tenggara Regional Board, Agrapinus Rumatora alias Nus Kei, died after being attacked by unidentified persons (OTK) on Sunday, 19 April 2026. The incident occurred around 11:25 WIT, shortly after the victim arrived from Jakarta. The situation at the airport, which was initially normal, suddenly became tense when the stabbing took place abruptly. The Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Regional Police, Commissioner Rositah Umasugi, revealed that the victim was attacked using a sharp weapon. “Suddenly, the victim was stabbed by an unidentified person using a knife. The suspected perpetrator immediately fled after the incident,” Rositah said in a written statement. The victim, who sustained serious injuries, was rushed to Karel Sadsuitubun Hospital by family members around 12:00 WIT. However, rescue efforts failed, and the victim was declared dead. It did not take long for the police to act swiftly in pursuit. Within about two hours of the incident, two suspected perpetrators were apprehended. The two suspects, initials HR (28) and FU (36), are currently undergoing intensive examination at the Maluku Tenggara Resort Police Criminal Investigation Unit. “As for the motive, it is still being investigated by investigators,” she said. The Maluku Regional Police assured that this case will be handled seriously. The Maluku Police Chief has ordered his subordinates to investigate the incident thoroughly in a professional and transparent manner.
