Golkar: Nusron Wahid Resigned from Party Board Long Ago

Golkar Party Secretary-General Sarmuji stated that Nusron Wahamed resigned from the Golkar management more than six months ago.

He mentioned that the resignation was conveyed directly by Nusron to the General Chairman of Golkar, Bahlil Lahadalia. “Yes, he resigned. Mr Nusron informed the General Chairman directly. As I recall, it was more than six months ago,” Sarmuji said when contacted on Sunday (20/9).

Sarmuji did not explain the reasons behind Nusron’s resignation. However, he noted that Nusron still holds the status of a Golkar cadre. “He resigned from the Golkar Central Executive Board (DPP) position,” he added.

In the 2024-2029 Golkar management structure, Nusron served as the Head of the Religious and Spiritual Affairs Division.

Nusron’s name has recently been mentioned in an alleged bribery case regarding the processing of Building Use Rights (HGB) within the Ministry of ATR/BPN. In that case, four suspects have been identified as individuals trusted by Nusron.

Nusron Wahid has spoken out in response to the law enforcement actions taken by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He stated that he respects the ongoing process and will be cooperative in helping the anti-corruption agency uncover the truth regarding the case within his ministry.

“First, we respect what is being processed by law enforcement, in this case, the KPK. We will also follow and assist the existing process,” Nusron said at the Ministry of ATR/BPN in Jakarta on Friday (18/9). He expressed hope that the case involving his subordinates would lead to an accelerated improvement of internal services within the ATR/BPN offices.
