The Chairman of Golkar’s DPR RI Faction, M. Sarmuji, reported a significant improvement in the 2026 Hajj services, noting that Hajj officials have become more disciplined.

Sarmuji, currently performing Hajj as an ordinary pilgrim, shared his firsthand experiences on the ground. He observed notable improvements compared to 2023 when he served as a member of the DPR RI Hajj Oversight Team (Timwas).

“In 2023, I was part of the Hajj Oversight Team and we encountered numerous issues concerning catering, accommodation, and transportation. This year, as an ordinary pilgrim, I visited several Indonesian Hajj sectors. Alhamdulillah, there has been a significant improvement in services,” Sarmuji said on Thursday, 28 May 2026.

During his visits to three Indonesian Hajj sectors, Sarmuji directly questioned pilgrims about the services they received, finding no significant complaints.

“I asked pilgrims across three sectors. On average, there were no major issues in this year’s Hajj organisation. The execution at Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina was also relatively smooth and well-managed,” he added.

As Golkar’s Secretary-General, Sarmuji praised the Hajj officials for their increased discipline and professionalism compared to previous years.

“Hajj officials are more disciplined this year than in past years. They have carried out their duties effectively.”

He noted that the quality improvements felt by pilgrims reflect the government’s serious commitment to providing the best services for Indonesia’s guests of Allah.

“Since I was not there as an overseer, I could truly experience what pilgrims feel. And what I experienced was significantly better service. This is an achievement we must honestly acknowledge—the Hajj Ministry has worked hard and the results are evident,” he said.
