Golkar Mourns the Passing of Former South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin

Deputy Secretary-General of the Golkar Party, Ace Hasan Syadzily, expressed his condolences on the passing of former South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin. Ace prayed that the deceased would receive the best place by God.

“We feel a great loss over his passing. Hopefully, the deceased will be accepted by Him and have a good ending,” Ace said to reporters on Wednesday (25/2/2026).

Ace mentioned that Alex Noerdin had made contributions to the party with the beringin tree symbol. Alex also served as a member of the DPR RI from Golkar.

“The Golkar Party deeply mourns the passing of the late Mr. Alex Noerdin. He served as the Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Regional Leadership Council (DPD) in South Sumatra, led the province of South Sumatra as governor, and was a member of the DPR/MPR RI from the Golkar Party faction,” he said.

It is known that the former Governor of South Sumatra, Alex Noerdin, has passed away. The defendant in the Cinde Market revitalization case in Palembang passed away at the age of 76 after undergoing treatment at Siloam Hospital in Jakarta.

The news of Alex Noerdin’s passing had previously spread via WhatsApp messages.

Alex Noerdin’s health was reportedly deteriorating since Friday (20/2/2026), and he was rushed to Siloam Hospital in Palembang.

However, due to inadequate medical equipment, the former South Sumatra Governor, who served two terms, had to be rushed to Siloam Hospital in Jakarta. Even the trial of Alex Noerdin, which was scheduled to hear witness testimony at the Corruption Court of the Class 1 A Palembang District Court, had to be canceled because he was reportedly in critical condition.

The spokesperson for the Alex Noerdin family, Okta Alfarisi, confirmed the passing of Alex Noerdin.

“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun, Mr. Alex Noerdin has passed away at 13:30 WIB at Siloam Hospital in Jakarta,” said Okta, as reported by detikSumbagsel.
