Golkar Maluku: Thoroughly Investigate the Stabbing of Nus Kei
The Maluku I Regional Leadership Council (DPD I) of the Golkar Party has requested that the police thoroughly investigate the alleged stabbing of the Chairman of the Southeast Maluku II Regional Leadership Council (DPD II Golkar Malra), Agrapinus Rumatora (Nus Kei), at the exit of Karel Sadsuitubun Airport.
“We request that this be investigated thoroughly and, at the same time, express our deep concern over the stabbing incident that befell the Chairman of the Golkar Party in Malra,” said Chairman of DPD I Golkar Maluku, Umar A. Lessy, as quoted by Antara on Sunday (19/4).
Umar assessed that this incident is a serious event that not only impacts the victim and their family but also has the potential to disrupt social stability and the conducive situation in the area, particularly in Southeast Maluku.
“We strongly condemn any form of violent action that occurs against the Chairman of DPD II Southeast Maluku. This stabbing is an unlawful act and cannot be tolerated in national and state life,” said Umar.
Therefore, Golkar urges all cadres in Maluku, especially in Southeast Maluku Regency, to remain restrained, not to be provoked, and to keep the situation safe and conducive.
“Solidarity must be shown through mature attitudes and not actions that muddy the situation,” he said.
Golkar also requests that security forces immediately investigate thoroughly by arresting the perpetrators and transparently and professionally revealing the motive behind the incident.
“We encourage all parties, including community leaders, religious figures, and youth elements, to jointly maintain security and order in society and not to spread unverified information,” he stated.
Umar has instructed the entire Golkar Party structure in Maluku to remain solid, strengthen internal communication, and fully entrust the handling of this case to law enforcement authorities.
The DPD I Golkar Maluku also stated its position to reaffirm the party’s commitment to upholding democratic values, peace, and the supremacy of law in Maluku Province.
The Chairman of DPD II Golkar Southeast Maluku Regency, Agrapinus Rumatora alias Nus Kei, was stabbed by an unknown person in the Langgur Airport area and was evacuated to a local hospital, but his life could not be saved.
Police have secured two suspected stabbing perpetrators. The two individuals are still being intensively examined by the police.
