Golkar Legislator Supports KAI CEO's Comprehensive Evaluation Following Train Accident in Bekasi
We fully support the steps taken by PT KAI’s Director, Bobby Rasyidin, to make the necessary improvements so that similar incidents that harm the public do not occur again,” stated Firnando in his remarks on Wednesday (29/4). As a partner to the state-owned enterprise, Firnando stressed that PT KAI must not compromise on passenger safety matters. The improvements must encompass audits of operational safety procedures, crossing supervision, field staff discipline, and railway infrastructure readiness. Furthermore, the Golkar Party politician reminded that restoring public trust in the security of train transportation now rests on KAI’s management shoulders. Therefore, support from the DPR RI’s Commission VI is expected to spur KAI’s board of directors to take swift, transparent, and measured steps in overhauling all aspects of their operations. “Public safety is the top priority. These improvement steps must be immediately realised to ensure a sense of security for the public who rely on trains for their daily mobility,” Firnando concluded. As is known, the KRL and KA Argo Bromo accident occurred at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (27/4) night. A total of 16 people died and dozens others were injured.
