Golkar Invites Prabowo to Attend 62nd Anniversary Celebration

Golkar deputy chairman Wihaji said President Prabowo Subianto had been invited to the climax of the party’s 62nd anniversary celebrations. This year’s main event will be held on 29 November.

“God willing, yes. God willing, he has been invited,” Wihaji said at Golkar’s headquarters in Jakarta on Sunday (25 October 2026).

Golkar held a series of events for its 62nd anniversary today, including distributing food packages to the public. A total of 620,000 packages are being distributed across Indonesia.

“The food packages are being distributed throughout Indonesia, although not all at the same time. We will distribute 620,000 packages across 38 provinces and 514 regencies and cities,” he said.

Wihaji said Golkar had often distributed food packages in the past. Today’s distribution is focused on professions and groups considered eligible for assistance.

“We are prioritising beneficiaries whom Golkar considers deserving, including people with disabilities, online motorcycle taxi drivers, female heads of household and mosque caretakers. There are various groups who, I believe, are entitled to receive this assistance, as part of our giving thanks for Golkar’s 62 years,” he said.

Wihaji added that Golkar had gained extensive experience over its 62 years. He said the party would continue striving to do good in the future.

“As for evaluating our record, I think we will always try to do better. We want to make the best possible contribution to the public,” he added.
