JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Ahmad Doli Kurnia, Deputy General Chairman of the Golkar Party, has asked all party cadres not to be provoked by emotions following the stabbing case against Nus Kei, Chairman of the Golkar Southeast Maluku Regional Leadership Council, which resulted in his death.

“I hope that all levels of the Golkar Party, especially in Southeast Maluku, can continue to control themselves, not be provoked by emotions, and help to cool down the situation,” Doli said to reporters on Monday (20/4/2026).

Regarding this case, Doli admitted to being shocked and saddened by the unfortunate incident that befell Nus Kei.

“In the midst of the progress that we have felt and continue to strive for as a nation, all problems should be resolved through dialogue, with a cool head, and without emotions,” he stated.

“And if this is a personal matter, I hope the family also does not respond with the same approach,” Doli emphasised.

Doli suggested that everything be left to the police to follow up.

Upon arriving at the airport exit to meet his family, Nus Kei was immediately stabbed by an unknown person (OTK).

The OTK was a man wearing a red jacket and a mask.

However, the perpetrator resisted and fled.

After that, Nus Kei managed to run back into the airport but collapsed and received assistance from officers at the scene.

Nus Kei was then rushed to Karel Sadsuitubun Hospital for medical treatment.

Unfortunately, the victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital due to severe bleeding and injuries to vital organs.
