Golkar Forges Adaptive Young Leaders Through AMPG National Training

Jakarta, VIVA – The Golkar Party has taken another step towards consolidation in its effort to produce a resilient future generation capable of answering the political challenges of tomorrow.

Through its wing organisation, the party bearing the banyan tree symbol held the opening of the PP Angkatan Muda Partai Golkar (AMPG) National Young Cadre Training, Wave III of 2026, held back-to-back with the AMPG National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas).

Secretary-General of the Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board, M. Sarmuji, stressed that this cadre development programme is a long-term investment for the party. According to him, the training is not merely a forum for transferring political knowledge, but a proving ground to sharpen cadres’ sensitivity to social issues.

“This training is vital for the Golkar Party because it prepares young people who possess character as well as strong insight, who understand problems and can solve them,” said Sarmuji, speaking at the Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board office, quoted on Saturday, 11 July 2026.

Sarmuji also highlighted the rapid pace of change today. He urged the young AMPG cadres not to be rigid and to continually familiarise themselves with existing dynamics, as past approaches are often no longer effective in solving present-day problems.

“What we did yesterday may not necessarily suit what we face today. The ability to adapt and adjust to the times is the key to staying relevant to the current situation,” he said.

On the same occasion, Chairman of the PP AMPG, Said Aldi Al Idrus, explained that before the training sessions began, the event was preceded by a Rapimnas attended by representatives of 36 AMPG provincial chapters from across the country. He said the agenda was a direct mandate from Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia, together with Secretary-General M. Sarmuji.

“After this, we will hold the training for three days, starting tomorrow until Sunday. This activity is part of efforts to strengthen AMPG cadre development throughout Indonesia,” said Said.

Said added that the main focus of this training is to align the newly elected AMPG provincial chairmen, who were recently chosen through regional conferences (Musda). This unification of vision is considered crucial so that the party machinery can move in harmony.
