Golkar faction chair reports improvement in 2026 Hajj services
Pilgrims urged to reduce activities outside Arafah tents.
Golkar faction chair Muhammad Sarmuji stated that the organisation of the 2026 Hajj has improved, based on his direct observation as a regular pilgrim. In 2023, he served as a member of the DPR RI Hajj Oversight Team (Timwas), where he noted issues with catering, accommodation, and transport. This year, however, he observed significant service improvements.
“This year, I performed Hajj as an ordinary citizen and visited several Indonesian pilgrim sectors. Alhamdulillah, there has been a significant improvement in services,” he said in a statement on Thursday, 28 May.
He claimed no major complaints from pilgrims, and the key rituals at Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina proceeded smoothly.
“I asked pilgrims across three sectors; most reported no significant issues in this year’s Hajj organisation. Similarly, the execution at Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina was smooth,” he added.
Professional Hajj Officers
The Golkar party secretary-general praised the professionalism and discipline of Hajj officers compared to previous years.
“They carried out their duties well,” he said.
