Golkar Dismisses PDIP's Deddy Sitorus' Claims of Ruling Coalition Discord

The Golkar Party has dismissed claims by PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) politician Deddy Sitorus that there are internal problems within the government coalition. Golkar asserts that the relations among the coalition parties are perfectly fine.

“So far, everything is fine,” Golkar’s Sarmuji told reporters on Monday (22/6/2026).

Sarmuji stated that the remarks made by Deddy Sitorus were unfounded. According to him, the statement by the member of House Commission II did not even meet the criteria to be considered speculative. “Even as speculation, it doesn’t meet the requirements,” Sarmuji said.

He noted that there is no indication of disharmony within the government coalition whatsoever. Sarmuji suggested that Deddy Sitorus had jumped to a conclusion. “Because to be speculative, there must be an indication. There is no indication at all. In academic terms, it’s a jumping conclusion,” he explained.

Deddy Sitorus had previously alleged that there was an uncomfortable situation within the coalition, which was why his party’s role as a balancing force was being questioned. He was responding to statements from the Democrat Party and Golkar that questioned PDIP’s position as a balancing party. “Or do they also want PDIP to be in an unpleasant situation with them? I began to think that perhaps there is a problem or discomfort within the coalition parties at the moment,” Deddy told reporters on Sunday (22/6).
