Deputy Chairman of the Golkar Party, Wihaji, has officially been elected as Chairman of the Musyawarah Kekeluargaan Gotong Royong (MKGR) mass organization for the 2026-2030 period. Wihaji was elected by acclamation as the sole candidate during the MKGR Extraordinary Grand Assembly (Mubeslub).

The election session took place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta on Saturday (11/7). Wihaji officially replaces Adies Kadir, who stepped down after being appointed as a Constitutional Court judge.

The MKGR Mubeslub session was attended by cadres and administrators from the organization’s regional boards across Indonesia. In their general views, the heads of the MKGR regional boards from all over Indonesia expressed their unanimous support for Wihaji to continue the organization’s leadership.

Nasarudin, Chairman of the MKGR Regional Board for Riau, speaking on behalf of all regional boards, stated their full backing for Wihaji. The session’s verification committee confirmed that Wihaji was the only registered candidate. The decision was then formalized by the session chair, Amin Ngabalin, accompanied by Secretary Bambang Hermanto, who struck the gavel to mark the ratification. A handover ceremony of the MKGR Pataka was subsequently conducted from the session leadership to Wihaji.

In his acceptance speech, Wihaji expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him. He committed to strengthening the organization’s consolidation and expanding its cadreship at all levels. “Golkar is a large ship, and MKGR is one of its lifeboats. Let us together strengthen the synergy between MKGR and the Golkar Party in formulating national ideas and delivering real service that directly benefits the community,” he said.
