Golkar Deputy Chair Wihaji Unanimously Elected as MKGR Ormas Chairman

Jakarta, VIVA – Wihaji, Deputy Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board, has officially been elected as Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Musyawarah Kekeluargaan Gotong Royong mass organisation (MKGR) for the 2026-2030 term.

Wihaji was elected by acclamation as the sole candidate at the Extraordinary National Congress (Mubeslub) of MKGR, held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta on Saturday, 11 July 2026, replacing Adies Kadir, who resigned after being appointed as a Justice of the Constitutional Court.

The Mubeslub session was attended by members and leaders of MKGR’s provincial chapters from across Indonesia. The decision was taken after all congress participants — the leaders of the provincial chapters — unanimously voiced their full support for Wihaji to continue MKGR’s leadership for the 2025-2030 term.

Nasarudin, Chairman of MKGR’s Riau provincial chapter, who served as spokesman for all provincial chapters, said they had unanimously declared full support for Wihaji as Chairman of MKGR’s Central Executive Board, as well as for all decisions produced by the congress.

After the provincial chapters’ views were read out at the congress, the Candidate Registration Verification Committee also reported that only one candidate had registered: Wihaji, backed by all 35 MKGR provincial chapters nationwide.

The congress chairman, Amin Ngabalin, accompanied by secretary Bambang Hermanto, then struck the gavel to mark the official confirmation of Wihaji as Chairman.

Following the confirmation, a ceremony was held to hand over the MKGR banner from the session’s leadership to Wihaji, symbolising the transfer of the organisation’s leadership.

In his remarks, Wihaji expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him. He committed to continuing, refining and strengthening the organisation’s consolidation, as well as expanding membership recruitment at every level of MKGR.

“Golkar is a great ship, and MKGR is one of its lifeboats. Let us together strengthen the synergy between MKGR and the Golkar Party in formulating national ideas and delivering service and real work whose benefits are directly felt by the people,” Wihaji said.
