Golkar councillors to boycott inauguration

MEDAN, North Sumatra: The Golkar Party faction at the North
Sumatra council plans to boycott the inauguration of Governor T.
Rizal Nurdin and his deputy Rudolf Mazouka Pardede on Monday.

A faction source said on Friday that all Golkar councillors
had been instructed not to attend the inauguration due to the
unsolved problem of Pardede's alleged fake high school diploma.

The North Sumatra Police have been investigating the diploma
allegation by sending a team to a high school in Sukabumi, West
Java, where Pardede claims he once studied.

The school principal has sent a letter to the council
informing it that Pardede was not listed as a former student of
