Golkar Confident No Party Members Will Be Sidelined in Reshuffle Amidst Rumours

Golkar Party’s Secretary General, Sarmuji, is convinced that no party cadres will be dismissed following discussions of a cabinet reshuffle under President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. He also assured that there have been no internal party talks regarding the reshuffle rumours. Sarmuji stated that Golkar is leaving the matter entirely to the President. “We are confident, hopefully, none from Golkar Party will be reshuffled, so we are not preparing any candidates,” Sarmuji said after Golkar Party’s halal bihalal event on Wednesday (8/4) evening. Sarmuji noted that reshuffle rumours are commonplace. However, ministerial changes are solely the President’s prerogative. “We leave the authority to the President because he knows best about the cabinet’s composition, his team, how they work, how to strengthen any weaknesses, and how to restructure if necessary,” he said. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that there are no plans for a reshuffle of President Prabowo Subianto’s cabinet, known as the Merah Putih Cabinet, in the near future. Nevertheless, Pras mentioned that President Prabowo continuously evaluates his subordinates’ performance. “Not yet,” Pras said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4). Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya did not deny the reshuffle rumours. He asked all parties to wait and leave it to the President. “Later, the President will explain,” he said.
