Golkar affirms pluralism through Easter celebration

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Golkar Party General Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia has affirmed the party’s commitment to the values of pluralism and diversity through the momentum of the Easter celebration. Bahlil stated that commemorating major religious holidays within Golkar is not a new matter, but rather part of the party’s identity, which from its inception has accommodated various ethnic, religious, and social backgrounds. “In Golkar, we never discriminate based on where you come from, what ethnicity, or what religion, because Golkar was born to provide tangible contributions, such as love that transcends differences,” said Bahlil at the “National Golkar Party Easter Music & Reflection Festival 2026” in Jakarta on Friday (24/4) night. He explained that this spirit of inclusivity is also rooted in the history of Golkar’s formation, which involved diverse elements of society, including contributions from religion-based organisations. “So through this Easter, I encourage young friends who do not yet have a place, vehicle, or home for struggle in advocating for the aspirations and interests of the people; the Golkar Party is always open to anyone and from anywhere,” he stated. According to him, in the current context, these values are increasingly important amid the rapid flow of information and social media dynamics that often sharpen differences. Bahlil conveyed that Golkar continues to strive to maintain an inclusive political space by providing equal opportunities for all cadres regardless of identity background. He also invited all elements of society to make the Easter momentum a reminder of the importance of the values of love, unity, and tolerance in national and state life.
